Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy is an individualized approach which starts with a very thorough intake and review of systems, followed by a personal assessment of various postures and breathing exercises which, along with your goals, make up your own individual therapy plan.

Yoga therapy combines Eastern medicine (yoga, asanas, meditation, breathing practices, and ayurveda) with Western medicine (psychology, knowledge of anatomy, various diagnoses and conditions, and treatments) to help you reach your health and wellbeing goals.

In yoga therapy, we work on the 5 bodies or layers:

Due to the individualized aspect of this work, yoga therapy is better suited for private (or semi-private) sessions and in order to see some change, a minimum of four sessions is strongly recommended.

One session is 90 minutes and currently all sessions are virtual.

You receive:

  • a comprehensive intake covering your health history
  • physical and breathing assessment
  • a personalized plan, which addresses your particular needs and works with the physical, energetic, mental and emotional, wisdom, and spiritual aspects of yourself
  • a trauma-sensitive approach
